Giants vs Saints Odds
The Giants vs Saints odds easily make up the game of the week in NFL betting. When two undefeated teams collide in Week 6, people notice. The Giants in particular have steamrolled their competition thus far, outscoring opponents 30-14 on average. However, after a laughably easy start to their schedule against the AFC West, the Giants are due for a wakeup call.
Giants vs Saints Odds: Saints -3 (Total: 47)

Giants vs Saints odds maker breakdown: The Storyline
The storyline speaks for itself when two undefeated teams clash, but the Giants are under the microscope. The Saints proved their worth by beating the Jets, but whom have the Giants beaten? They could hang their hat on the Cowboys or Redskins, but those teams are struggling. Since then, they’ve faced Tampa, Kansas City and Oakland. Talk about a vacation. Time for the Giants to prove they can beat real teams.
Giants vs Saints odds maker breakdown: Offense
The Saints’ luster has worn off in recent weeks as Drew Brees went two games without a touchdown pass, but note that Brees wasn’t picked off in those two games either. He didn’t force the ball into coverage when the plays weren’t there; the Saints’ offense simply adapted to its opponents’ weaknesses. In showing they can run the ball like crazy when they have to, the Saints are showing how mature and versatile their offense is. If Brees can’t air it out to his talented group of receivers, Pierre Thomas can shoulder the load.
The Giants’ offense is on fire right now; Ahmad Bradshaw’s lightning is outshining Brandon Jacobs’ thunder in the running game while Eli Manning continues to show great chemistry with Steve Smith, who leads the NFL in receiving yards. Since Manning may be slowed by a foot injury and since the Saints have moved the ball against better competition, they get a minor online sports betting edge.

Giants vs Saints odds maker breakdown: Defense
There’s no topping the Giants’ defense right now. They have the deepest front seven in football; Justin Tuck, Osi Umenyiora and company terrorize opposing quarterbacks. The secondary has been much better than advertised to and combines with the pass rush to produce the league’s best pass defense so far this season.
Don’t underestimate the Saints, however; their “D” has vastly improved under co-ordinator Gregg Williams, particularly in the pass rush. They’ll try to exploit Manning’s injury all day and force him to make bad throws Darren Sharper and his NFL-best five interceptions freelancing downfield. However, just like the Giants’ offense must do, the Saints’ “D” has to be better for longer to earn the edge over New York’s established group.
Betting Edge: Giants
Giants vs Saints odds for total: 47
Sportsbook odds makers look at these teams’ potent offenses and expect a shootout. To do so, however, is to underestimate what each team does defensively. The Giants and Saints get to the quarterback with the best of ’em, so I expect plenty of sacks, off-balance throws and turnovers in this one. I’d go under the total.
Pick: Under 47
Giants vs Saints odds maker breakdown: Notable Injuries
The Giants are still making do in the secondary minus starter Aaron Ross and (plus Chris Canty is missing at defensive tackle); that they still lead the NFL in pass defense is a testament to their depth. The biggest question mark is still Manning’s foot, which didn’t hold him out last week but could still limit his effectiveness.
No new injuries have popped up for the Saints but it’s worth noting that Mike Bell should return to the lineup this week. While he won’t start, he’ll split duties with Pierre Thomas and Reggie Bush, keeping everyone fresh.

Giants vs Saints betting breakdown: Outlook and Pick
This is an extremely tough matchup to call, but the Saints have more going for them entering this matchup – home field, fresh legs after a bye week, and a tougher schedule to date. The Giants may not have their killer instinct after facing cupcake opponents three straight weeks and the Saints pass rush should surprise the hobbled Eli Manning. Pick New Orleans.
