Boise State at Tulsa
Wednesday, 8:00 pm Eastern – ESPN
5th ranked Boise State will look to remain unbeaten as they travel to face the Tulsa Golden Hurricane on Wednesday night in an ESPN televised contest. The Broncos are in position to get a BCS bowl berth but can’t afford any losses since they play in the weak Western Athletic Conference.
Boise State is a 9-point favorite with total of 54 at SBG Global.
Last week Boise State did not play that well but still defeated UC Davis by a score of 34-16. The Broncos were held to a season low 101 yards rushing.
Quarterback Kellen Moore threw for 285 yards and three touchdowns to make up for the lack of a running game. The defense didn’t play that well either and that has to change or the Broncos could be in trouble against a high-powered Tulsa offense. “I’m frustrated with a couple different phases,” Boise State coach Chris Petersen said. “Too many penalties, when you can’t score inside the 4 and 5 yard line when you have multiple tries, that’s frustrating. We’ll have their attention without question here and get a few things corrected.” Boise State should get cornerback Kyle Wilson back this week and that will be a huge boost since he is the team’s defensive leader and top punt returner.
Tulsa may be able to challenge Boise State with quarterback G.J. Kinne, who ranks seventh in the country with a 161.7 passer rating. He has thrown for 1,142 yards with 10 touchdowns and only two interceptions. Boise State has won all of the four previous meetings against Tulsa although the two teams have not met since 2004. Tulsa has won 13 of their last 14 home games overall.
Here are the college football betting stats for Wednesday’s game. The Broncos are 8-1 ATS in their last 9 games as a road favorite. The Broncos are 12-3-1 ATS in their last 16 games overall. The Golden Hurricane are 9-1 ATS in their last 10 home games. The Golden Hurricane are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 non-conference games.
The Under is 4-1 in the Broncos last 5 non-conference games. The Under is 4-0-1 in Tulsa’s last 5 home games. The Over is 11-3-1 in Tulsa’s last 15 vs. the WAC.
