The Tennesse Titans receive the Buffalo Bills at Fawcett Stadium on Sunday August 9 for the Pro Football Hall of Fame game.
The Titans are confident they can take care of business against the Bills despite the arrival of WR Terrel Owens in the Bills’ offense.
Veteran QB Kerry Collins takes good care of the ball and was only sacked 8 times in 16 games last season. His job is mainly to handle the ball to RBs Chris Johnson and LenDale White who rushed for a combined 2.001 yards and 24 TDs.The Bills will have a hard time defending the rush as they are in trouble with the linebackers’ position after releasing veteran DiGiorgio who didn’t pass his physical, and two more LBs with bum knees.
The Bills’ offensive line has new starters at all five spots with the possibility of 2 rookies as guards. That will not make it easier on 3rd year QB Trent Edwards who threw 10 int.for 11 TDs in 2008 and it will be hard to open running lanes for RB Marshawn Lynch against the very tough Titans’ defense.
It will be interesting to see the impact T.O. is going to make on the Bills’ passing game and who will be QB Edwards’ favorite target at the TE position. He says he’s more comfortable with Derek Shouman but athletic rookie Shawn Nelson,at 6’5” and 240 pounds,is a mismatch for defenders out wide and could become a valuable asset.
I expect the Titans to play a solid game in front of their fans and beat the still experimenting Bills with their new image offense.
