MLB Betting – Things starting to heat up for baseball betting players
Every day seems like a UFC 101 fight card for baseball betting players as there are slugfests going on all over the majors right now as teams are jockeying for playoff positions. Here’s a look at the top five series to watch out for this weekend.
Mariners vs Rangers Odds
These AL West rivals kick off their series on Thursday at The Ballpark, and the Rangers had a four-game lead over the Mariners heading into the opener. The Rangers had won six of the nine games so far this season between the two, and they swept Seattle in Texas back in April, which means they should be favored by your sports betting software.
Matchup to watch: Seattle’s Jerrod Washburn vs Texas’ Kevin Millwood, Sunday, 8:05 PM ET
Angels vs Twins Odds
The Angels will be trying to stretch their AL West lead, while the Twins are looking to keep up with Detroit in the Central. Minnesota swept the Angels back in April at home, and they come into this series on a four-game winning streak.
Matchup to watch: Los Angeles’ Ervin Santana vs Minnesota’s Nick Blackburn, Friday, 8:10 PM ET
Yankees vs White Sox Odds
This is another series that began on Thursday, and these two come into the clash going in opposite directions: the Yankees had won eight of their last 10, while the White Sox had dropped three in a row. The Bronx Bombers aren’t scared to go to the Windy City either, as they’ve won five of their last six in Chicago.
Matchup to watch: New York’s C.C. Sabathia vs Chicago’s Mark Buerhle, Sunday, 2:05 PM ET
Astros vs Cardinals Odds
The Astros were 3.5 games behind first-place St. Louis in the NL Central as of Thursday, and these two have met six times this season. In each three-game series, the home team earned a sweep. It’s not hard to tell who will be the betting favorites here.
Matchup to watch: Houston’s Wandy Rodriguez vs St. Louis’ Chris Carpenter, Saturday, 7L15 PM ET
Phillies vs Giants Odds
The Giants took two of three from the Phillies in San Francisco last May. The Phillies have been on fire since the break, and they added AL Cy Young winner Cliff Lee to the fold. He should be ready to start either Friday or Saturday, as reigning NL Cy Young winner Tim Lincecum is scheduled to hit the mound. Make it happen, Charlie Manuel. This would be one of the toughest baseball picks of the day.
Matchup to watch: Philadelphia (undecided) vs San Francisco’s Tim Lincecum, Saturday, 9:05 PM ET
