Former Atlanta’s Falcons QB Michael Vick says he is close to sign with an NFL team
Vick was conditonnaly reinstated on Monday, one week after he completed his 23 months sentence for running a dogfighting ring.He could play from week 6,providing he finds a team who wants him,but NFL commissioner Roger Goodweell ruling is not a suspension and Vick could start at any time if he demonstrates he is ready. He presented a life-management plan to the commissioner, helped by former NFL coach Tony Dungy. It is up to Vick to keep his promises in order to straighten his life and take full advantage of this opportunity to play again in the league.
Why should any team sign a QB who hasn’t play in the last 2 years? Michael Vick’s great talent speaks for itself in a league which is very short of this commodity at the QB position.Vick can run,he rushed for 1,000 yards in his last season, any “wildcat” oriented offense or teams wishing to expand their “wildcat” package has a good use for the exciting QB.
The concensus among players, fans and coaches is that Michael Vick deserves a second chance. The question is:Can he still play at a high level?
I hope so,at 29 Vick has quite a few years left in him to delight the football fans with his amazing athletic plays.
