MLB betting trends come and go, and with a long season of 162 games, sometimes it’s hard to differentiate between a brief hot streak and consistent good play. Online betting handicappers have watched the New York Yankees tear it up recently, and while some people still question the Evil Empire, the reality is that they are here to stay and here to contend for another World Series.

MLB betting trends: Yankees bats heating up with the weather

?Yankees lead MLB with 125 home runs

?Yankees have won 11 of their last 13 games

?Rotation and bullpen supporting stellar hitting

The MLB betting trends in the sportsbook have been to raise the prices on the Yankees for their day-to-day games, which makes them a fairly pricey bet. The Yankees are already the most public team in all of baseball and attract plenty of action, so a hot stretch only increases their price tag.

The Yankees have won 11 of their last 13 games, which has made them the hottest team on the MLB betting trends. With a number of new faces and some early season injuries, it took the Yankees a while to get going, but now they are hitting very well as a team and are getting enough pitching for support. MLB betting trends experts should note that over the last 13 games, the Yankees have averaged 6.8 runs per game. When you have a lineup that includes Rodriguez, Derek Jeter, Mark Teixeira, Jorge Posada and Nick Swisher, you are bound to produce some runs.

MLB betting experts have always questioned the Yankees pitching, but they have managed to tweak a few things to improve their rotation. C.C. Sabathia and A.J. Burnett were solid additions and Joba Chamberlain is slowly growing into a decent starter, while Chien-Ming Wang – who was batted around like a piñata earlier in the year – is slowly regaining his form (even though he’s injured again). In the bullpen, Mariano Rivera is again an All-Star while youngster Phil Hughes has carved himself a nice role as a middle reliever.

The Yankees are no fluke. They are built to compete and although they battled some early season bumps and bruises, they are competing right now. While MLB betting trends experts aren’t sure what kind of factor their new stadium will play as the weather heats up – balls have been flying out of the stadium and almost every pitcher has struggled there – the bottom line is this team is once again on the path to contending for a World Series ring.
