The Colorado Avalanche wraps up their season high six-game road trip at the Islanders on Monday. The trip has been very poor for Colorado and has all but eliminated them from playoff contention. They have lost their last four games including 6-1 to the Rangers on Saturday. “Obviously we’re not happy with our positioning,” forward Darcy Tucker said. “We’ve just got to continue to work hard and move forward and try to be as tight as we can and stick together.”

The Avalanche have not been stopping anyone of late and they have the worst defense in the Western Conference. Goaltender Peter Budaj was pulled in the loss to the Rangers. The Islanders are just playing out the string to end the season. They have a defense that is even worse than Colorado’s. They did play better on Saturday though, shutting out the Sabres 2-0. Yann Danis made 31 saves I the victory. He is 2-1-0 with a 0.34 GAA in his last three starts. “Pucks are just hitting me right now,” Danis said, “My positioning has been good; I think that’s been the key to my game. Also, I think the guys are playing really good hockey in front of me.”
